Johnny Manziel is back in the spotlight. This time, it’s not for his on-field exploits.
Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel has secured an emergency temporary restraining order against a Texas woman who is making outrageous allegations about their supposed relationship.
Court documents reveal that Manziel filed his lawsuit last Friday in Brazos County. He claims that MaKenzie Carter, who is also known as MaKenzie Calame, has been publicly stating and reaching out to his acquaintances, insisting that they were in a romantic relationship.
Manziel firmly states that no such relationship ever took place.
The lawsuit alleges that Carter has been sending emails to many of Manziel’s friends, family, and business contacts, warning them of potential legal steps if they continue to meddle in what she claims is their relationship.
Manziel’s legal team paints a disturbing scene, accusing Carter of spreading false theories and refusing to cease her actions. Consequently, the former Heisman winner felt compelled to seek legal intervention.
The restraining order aims to immediately prevent Carter’s behavior while the legal proceedings unfold. Manziel is pursuing damages up to $250,000, alongside attorney fees and a permanent injunction.
His attorney expressed that pursuing this lawsuit was not a preferred course of action, but became essential to safeguard Manziel and those around him. A hearing is scheduled for Friday.
Once again, the narrative surrounding Johnny Manziel has taken an unexpected twist.
