Rumors, as they say, have a tendency to take off.
Hill’s training clips from Kansas City have ignited talk of a potential reunion with the Chiefs. With the return of Eric Bieniemy as the offensive coordinator, connecting the dots becomes a lot simpler.
However, Coach Andy Reid isn’t sold.
Addressing this chatter, Reid made it clear that no deal is currently on the table. He mentioned that general manager Brett Veach is evaluating all options, but emphasized that Hill’s health is the primary concern.
Hill is recovering from a torn ACL sustained in Week Four, ending his season prematurely. Prior to his injury, he had recorded 21 catches for 265 yards and a touchdown. While impressive, those stats won’t overshadow the lingering injury worries.
Looking back, Hill was integral to Kansas City’s ascent, earning two first-team All-Pro selections and becoming a serious threat on the field. Over his six seasons, he racked up 6,630 receiving yards and 56 touchdowns, contributing significantly during their Super Bowl run.
Reid didn’t close the door entirely, but he hasn’t opened it wide either.
Hill is training. The Chiefs are monitoring. For now, that’s where things stand.
